Each year the Heretaunga Women’s Centre celebrates and honours the legacy of the women’s suffrage movement with this event. Not just as a fundraiser but also a fantastic supportive event for women saying yes to something new, setting goals and doing something special just for themselves.
“This women’s only event has specifically been designed for first-timers or seasoned professionals. Even if you have never considered doing a Triathlon before, this event is 100% achievable for you.”
The event can be done as an individual or as a team, so get your besties, your work mates, or your family together and dive in, take the plunge, put on your shoes, get on that bike, get training, get entered and we will see you at the finish line.
You will be in great company and will be joined on the start line with other amazing wāhine ‘having a go’.
There are multiple different races with different distances and options that will suit everyone, from the absolute beginner to the seasoned athlete. We have run/walk only option as well as Duathlon, Aquathlon and Aquabike disciplines!
We encourage participants from the age of 7 to 99 and walkers are welcome and absolutely encouraged to enter.
All events are held under the watchful eye of the amazing team at Triathlon Hawkes Bay.
All entry fees go directly to the Heretaunga Women’s Centre, so whilst you are out there doing something healthy you can feel good, knowing you are also helping out the HWC.
There is a change to the course in 2025, new course maps will be available in the next couple of weeks and will be emailed to any participants who register before they are published.
Venue partners
We are grateful for the sport of the team at the Mitre10 Sports Park and also the HB Regional Aquatic Centre for their support of this event and use of their venues.
We are also grateful to the team from Tri HB who plan the course and provide marshalls on the day. From the pool to transition, to the run/walk and cycle routes, all courses have been set out with safety in mind, we are thankful for the support of Jeremy and his team in keeping everyone safe on the course.
