Improve your self-confidence while sharing and developing skills, knowledge, and life experiences in group workshops or one-on-one mentor sessions.
Talking through concerns can help you make sense of difficult situations, and finding the right person to talk to can make all the difference.
We offer low-cost confidential, and professional counselling services to all women. Working with your counsellor, you could address diverse challenges including: complex emotions, stress, grief, relationships and/or making positive change in your life.
All counsellors practice under the New Zealand Association of Counsellors’ Code of Ethics.
If you’re looking to donate your spare time and energy to helping women, we’d love to hear from you. Without our dedicated team of volunteers, we wouldn’t be the Centre we are today, and we’re always looking for passionate and enthusiastic people to join us.
As an HWC volunteer, you’ll get as much out of the experience as you give. You’ll make meaningful connections, learn and impart new skills, and gain the confidence and courage to become the best version of yourself.
At the Heretaunga Women’s Centre, we have a long history of supporting the women of Hawke’s Bay. Over the past 100 years, we have refined our kaupapa, defined our values, and worked hard towards our purpose of enhancing and advocating for the wellbeing and empowerment of wāhine in our community.
We’re proud of where we’ve come from and excited to see what lies ahead. Join us on our journey, and let us share our story with you.
This website is made possible with generous support from the Anne Marie O’Sullivan Foundation and the Evergreen Foundation.
Our heartfelt thanks to you.
