We are calling for expressions of interest from artists for the painting of the electric box outside the Heretaunga women’s centre. Unfortunately, at this stage there is no funding for this – but of course we would pay for paint. Welcome Deidré who joins the HWC team as our new Service Development Lead and SuperGrans Coordinator

We are delighted to introduce our newest staff member, Deidre Venter, who joins the HWC team as our new Service Development Lead and SuperGrans Coordinator. Deidré is an Occupational Therapist, and has worked in South Africa and the United Arab Emirates in mental health and specialised education. Deidré also volunteers for the Hastings and Napier Women’s Refuge, and is a Board Member of the Family Violence, Intervention and Prevention Charitable Trust (Family VIP Services). Te Tupu Fund Helps raise funds for HWC Counselling

Dr Samantha Newman wants to enable women to access healthcare for mental, physical and spiritual wellbeing. Her dream is that individuals/registered healthcare providers can apply for funding to be able access to a health professional, whom they feel is appropriate to them, and will enable them to achieve defined health goals. Knowing mental health underpins wellbeing, Dr Sam has set up Te Tupu Fund which will also help support the ongoing work of the counselling service that the Heretaunga Women's Centre provides, and will further links to family doctors streamlining the health journey.…Read more

International Women’s Day Movie Postponed

Sadly we have had to postpone this movie. It seems Omnicom has meant our sales are low and people are not keen to go out. If you were among the few who purchased tickets we will be sorting a refund this week. No postponement date as yet. NZ has moved to the red level of the Covid Protection Framework (Traffic Light system). Check out what this means for you. At this time the Heretaunga Women's Centre will continue to remain open. All women regardless of their vaccination status are welcome to visit the Centre. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year We are closed from 1pm, Thursday 23rd Dec 2021 Centre Reopens for 2022 9am, Monday 10th Jan 2022 Term 1 programme available from  Monday 24th Jan 2022 International Women’s Day celebrated with a movie 5pm on Tuesday 8 March After the holidays the HWC will continue being open to all women.
